As the days get longer and the weather warms up, we’re excited to share updates and achievements from the past few months. We’ve been hard at work, making strides in our mission to empower young people, starting with athletes, to take control of their health and well-being.
Product Development
We launched Version 2 of our app, which integrates biometric data and offers insights that connect biopsychosocial data, providing a more comprehensive health management tool for our users.
But we’re not stopping there—Version 3 is under development and will be released soon. This upcoming version will feature responsive nudges and logging capabilities to help users understand how changes in their biometric data are linked to psychosocial symptoms and activities.
Additionally, we’ve been developing new in-app content focusing on mental health and well-being for young people, ensuring that our app continues to provide relevant and effective support.
Growth
We’ve launched a trial project with the Bloomsbury Football Foundation‘s College Team, using our app to support the players in improving their well-being and performance. This project will evaluate how joining BFF impacts their psychological, physical, and social well-being.
We’re also excited to announce a new research project with Liverpool John Moores University‘s School of Sport and Exercise Sciences. This study aims to understand the factors affecting the well-being and performance of students and student-athletes and explore how using our app can help improve these areas. Both of these initiatives are funded by our partners.
In addition to these projects, we’re collaborating with Loughborough University London, where four teams of postgraduate students are working on innovative ways to utilise biopsychosocial data to enhance athletes’ performance. Two of these teams will present their findings on 25th June as part of Loughborough University’s Collaborative Project showcase. We also have an MBA project with Sheffield Hallam University to explore the U.S. sports market, and research projects with under and postgraduate students focusing on a range of health and well-being topics.
Team
We’re delighted to welcome two PhD joining us on the Fellowship programme: Mark Crook-Rumsey, an experienced data scientist with background in neuroscience and psychology, and Sandy Wilson, a PhD candidate at Hartpury University with expertise in sleep, nutrition, and sports science. They are already making significant contributions to our product and content development.
We also want to extend our gratitude to the interns: Lila Tanamli, for her creativity in marketing content; Merritt Scott, who worked on our automated data analysis process; Chang Wen Wang, in assisting Merritt and contributing to UI development; and Xintong Zou, who developed the UI for Version 2.0 of the app. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.
Events
We sponsored and exhibited at What The Footie Podcast’s first Athlete Investment Summit on 22nd March at Samsung KX, London. It was enlightening to learn about the new trend of athletes turning into investors. We made valuable connections and received interest from investors and potential partners.
Additionally, we exhibited at the Everything in Sport London Edition, which focused on Women in Sports, and presented Prorizon at PowerPlay the Future, highlighting female entrepreneurs in the sports industry. We thank the organisers for the opportunities, introductions and will continue to follow up with investors and partners for future opportunities.
Programmes and Awards
We recently graduated from the Advanced Wellbeing Accelerator by Sheffield Hallam University. Special thanks to Ryan Sylvester for arranging insightful workshops, mentor matchmaking sessions, and assisting us with funded research and connections. We were also selected as one of the eight UK companies for the Pioneer Group‘s Life Science Accelerator. This eight-week programme, led by our dedicated coach Barry Middleton, allowed us to conduct interviews and further research, challenging our value propositions and business model.
We were honoured to be a finalists for “Startup of the Year” at the Sports Technology Awards, and although we did not win, it was a great honour to be selected for this highly competitive award. We also pitched at the “Britain’s Got Startups” Regional Final in Birmingham, where we were chosen as one of the 11 startups from 105 entries. We look forward to the investor introductions following this event.
